October 15, 2010. We visited Bali Safari & Marine Park!This is the second report of Bali Safari & Marine Park after the first report 2 years ago. When we came last time we took photos with leopard and lion, watched the elephant show and enjoyed the park all day.After two years,we wanted to see what does a change of the park look like?,We also watched “Bali Agung Show” at a newly opened indoor theater♪
Arrived at Bali Safari & Marine Park♪
From Jimbaran takes about one and a half hour drive to Bali Safari & Marine Park in East Bali.
From reception then we went inside, first we found souvenir and art shops. Here visitors can find many cute wildlife animal dolls.
Here we found greeting board ”Congratulations”.It was Bali Agung grand opening!! 1200 capacity international standard Bali Theater performing special show of Bali historical and legendary story.
From main terminal moved to Bali terminal by zebra stripe designed safari bus.! It’s very interesting♪ Arrived at Bali terminal, here is the entrance of Bali Safari & Marine Park. The guests are greeted with Balinese gamelan music.
Here is lobby Barong, a Balinese Style building which has cone shaped roof. Lobby Barong is used for information center and café, leopard can be seen from the front terrace.
Aquarium
There was no aquarium when we came here 2 years ago! Now visitors can view beautiful colorful fish swimming.
You can also feed piranha! Today feeding time starts at 03.30pm. Don’t forget to come here♪ The aquarium is stand in a line, it looks like embedded in the rock. Here we can see beautiful and colorful fish, yellow, blue and other colors.
In front of the lobby is tropical forest, there is a leopard living there.! Apparently taking a nap under the tree.
Fun Zone♪Recommended to your children!
The park is very large and has many attractions, so it’s recommended to use the guide map. The information is available in Japanese, English, Chinese and other languages.
First, we went into the park and explored Fun Zone on the right side! Here we can see various activities for children such as pool with slide, coaster, water slides and many other attractions.
Waterpark
Waterpark has pool for adult and children, water slide from pirate ship and pink octopus mark.No swimsuit for rent here,so bring swimsuit.
Poolside daybeds are also available, Besides children, there were many adult people in swimsuit relaxing on the bed♪

Take a walk in a large park♪
From Fun Zone, then we went to explore the park. The park designed in Balinese style with Balinese gate and stone statues wrapped black and white clothes. Park that is full of Balinese atmosphere. The park is large but no worry about getting lost, because we can find signboard in Japanese and English everywhere in the park.
Today Bali Theater grand opening, so there are many beautiful staffs in Balinese custom! Smile and pose in front of the camera.
Inside the park, almost no shady place and sunlight is very intense….so recommended to use sunscreen, and using it again when you are in the park. It’s better to bring hat. There is an art shop here♪We felt like we wanted to buy souvenirs before do nothing in the park. T-shirts with pictures of wildlife animals are sold here! T-shirts for women are available on sale.

Pony Ride
In the park visitors can ride three kinds of animal such as elephant, camel and pony♪Here is Pony Ride. Child weight under 25kg can also join pony ride. Rp.20,000/ride (about 200 Yen)
Elephant Ride & Camel Ride
There are two kinds of elephant rides here, Elephant Safari 30minutes and Elephant Ride 10minutes.Please book in advance.
Camel Ride, ride on the back of a camel and go around inside the park. We were surprised by the view from the back of camel that felt like much higher than previously thought.
Uma Restaurant
Uma Restaurant is one of two restaurants in the park. Leopard Package includes lunch at this restaurant.
Tsavo Lion Restaurant
Another restaurant is Lion Restaurant. Koni strongly recommends this restaurant, because the visitors can view the lions from inside the restaurant. You are lucky if you get seat by the window♪

When we came to the park on that day, the visitors could take photos with a baby orangutan and a baby white tiger.You can choose a package including photo with animal or take photo with animal when you are in Bali Safari & Marine Park with additional charge of Rp.50,000.

The most popular activity in Bali Safari & Marine Park, Safari Journey Trip♪ The visitors go by a special bus through the habitats of Indonesia, India and Africa.
Safari Journey Trip by a special bus takes about 25 to 30 minutes. Safari Journey Trip was guided by a cute staff. Last time when we joined the same tour the staff explained in English and a little Japanese, but on this tour the explanation almost in Bahasa Indonesia because it may be many Indonesia joined the tour. I thought that it was very good if she explained in English more.
African hippopotamus.
Walking slowly come right up to the bus window, it looked very strong. This is the first time we can see hippopotamus so close!!
This view is seen from” Tsavo Lion Restaurant !” Today male and female lions are sitting in front of the restaurant♪
One of the things that most impressed me was Masai cows! They have reddish-brown skin and long horn. It is big and looks strong!!
We could see 28 kinds of animals on 30-minute Safari Journey Trip♪We can see different animals on the right and the left of the bus, so if you took unlimited package it’s also recommended to join Safari Journey Trip twice. It’s great to see the animals up close!!
After visiting the park….
It was a great fun at Bali Safari and Marine Park, as I previously thought! This time, we didn’t enough time, so we couldn’t go all around the park. But I could cuddle a baby orangutan, her body couldn’t stop moving her body and had a high temperature, she has small round eyeballs, it’s very funny! I also wanted to cuddle a baby white tiger.
Safari Journey Trip, go on tour in zebra stripe designed safari bus to see various wildlife animals.
The staff’s explanation was almost in Bahasa Indonesia, so I don’t understand the name of animals and species well. With Safari Journey Trip for about 30minutes, I could see 28 kinds of animals. Hippopotamus and Masai cows are my favorite animals.

It’s the first time I visit Bali Safari & Marine Park, the park is bigger than I thought.! Walked a long distance, I sweat profusely. I think it’s necessary to bring hat and sunscreen. During walked around in the park, I could see Balinese stone statues, parrots, and many other interesting things to see, so I didn’t feel like walk a long distance. The park is full of greenery, it’s really great!!Taking photos with a baby orangutan can be valuable memories for me!It’s a rare opportunity to cuddle a wildlife animals.
